Gadrasini Hills

It almost 8Km from Belpahari and I reached over there at 2PM. Visitors need to hike up to reach the hill top. From there the view of the jungle is mesmerizing. It is also a bird lover’s paradise.

As I had the enough time so I made a plan to hik and started the journey with-in a second.I took two halts over there. First halt was after reaching the Vishnu Mandir and after that at the top, where Lord Shiva is worshiped in daily basis. From the top of the hills I clicked some snaps. After completeing the hiking, take a detour towards my next destination

Khandarani Dam

Khandarani Dam is a dam lake. The dam was constructed sometimes around 1996. The water helps in irrigating croplands and to provide potable water to the residents of at least 13 villages. This lake is also surrounded by forests, there is a connecting road bridge that goes over the lake. And its besically the back side of Gadrasini Hills. Youcan sse the top of the hills from Khandarani as well as can see the lake also from the top of the Hill. Hence it is less remote.

The sunset strikes up silhouettes of the forest and the hills. A Traveller(the vehicle) crosses the bridge triggering a dustcloud. A local seated on a coracle boat is fishing—getting the last catch of the day. This is a place for peace. Not for tourist boating and adventure activities. If you seek calm and nature you will love this place to bits.

Ghagra

The Ghagra River Rock, which is surrounded by untamed vegetation and a granite pedestal 5 kilometers from Belpahari, is a magnificent sight. Visitors get a unique view of nature’s splendor as the babbling streams of Ghagra crash against the jagged rocks. Visitors are drawn to Ghagra by its eerie beauty and majestic flow of unrestricted water currents. The palace has an eerie aspect due to its rural surroundings, mysterious bushes, and towering cliffs. This is the location where the Bengali movie “Behula Lakhindar” was previously filmed. The strange guests’ hearts are deeply affected by the people’s simple, rural innocence. The beauty of Ghagra is at its most majestic during the rainy season.Numerous crowds of people swarm to the location for an unplanned picnic and get-together.

After covering these spots I came to homestay and visited the local market. Next day I planned for Kankrajhore and other spots.
